Scoop watermelon with a tool you probably already have handy: an ice cream scoop.
When you’re making a fancy dessert that calls for “melon balls,” you can dig around for your melon baller (yes, another thing I didn’t know I needed!) or just use the same tool you bust out every time you’re binging on Netflix: the ice cream scoop.
And it’s really this easy. Slice the watermelon in half length-wise. Use a spoon to gently scrape out any seeds (so retro! but some watermelons are old-school and actually have seeds). Then grab your scoop and start balling! It sounds crude, but in the end you’ll have dainty culinary creations like these.
