Microwave Odors Gone, the Easy Way

microwave odors

Microwave odors can linger for so long that the time you saved cooking is lost to the time you spend apologizing for “that smell.” No more! Here’s a simple hack to help you rid your microwave of cooking odors–even the tough-to-remove smell of burnt popcorn.

Start with lemon juice, either bottled or, if you have some lemons handy, fresh-squeezed. Mix two tablespoons of lemon juice with a cup of water. Place in a microwave-safe glass bowl or cup, then cook on high for two minutes. Open the microwave and let the lemon water cool. Then you can use a paper towel to wipe away any bits that are stuck to the inside of the microwave… along with the odors lingering there.
