Measure gooey ingredients the simple way, by coating your measuring spoon first with a non-stick cooking spray.
When you’re measuring honey, agave, molasses, or even maple syrup into a recipe, it’s likely to get stuck to the measuring spoon. Try this simple cooking hack: lightly spray the spoon with non-stick cooking oil before you use it. Look for a brand that’s natural and taste free (luckily, Cook’s Illustrated has already tested the brands for you!).
You can also make your own non-stick cooking spray with an oil sprayer. Hold the measuring spoon away from the sprayer and give the little spoon a light once-over of cooking oil.
