The “perfect” ice cream sandwich is the one you make with the ice cream and cookies that you choose. And it’s so easy to do.
First, choose the cookies. They need to be a bit thick (sorry, Famous Amos) to stand up to the cold, wet ice cream. And big, too, for this endeavor. Choose an ice cream flavor that will complement the cookies–“cookie dough” is a crowd-pleaser–in a round, pint-sized container. Let it thaw just a bit, then slice it while it’s still in the container. Unwrap, place it between the cookies, and you have your own, custom-made ice cream sandwich.
