Hard boiled eggs are a culinary workhorse: you can use them to make egg salad or deviled eggs, chop them up for a Cobb salad, or take one with you for a quick protein pick-me-up.
Now, you can cook these little treasures the easy way. If you’re already using the oven, skip boiling the water (and the decision about whether to salt it or not) and simply cook the eggs in the oven. First, bring them to room temperature, then set them directly on the oven rack. Cook at 325 degrees for a half hour.
To making peeling the eggs simple, when you take them out of the oven, set them in a bowl of very cold water (with ice). The shells will come off in a jiffy.
