Grate some butter for baking, or cheese for a pizza, or even crayons for your kids’ art project (sure… it’s “for the kids”). A grater comes in handy for all sorts of things in the kitchen–including burnt cookies.
Whether you sliced them from a package or made them from scratch, your cookies took precious time and energy and when they came out burnt you have only that old rickety oven to blame. (Helpful hint: never melt butter to speed up the process of making cookie dough!)
Don’t toss your cookies. Wait until they’ve cooled down, and then use a cheese grater to buff off the burnt parts. The cookies will be good as new.
