A DIY vacuum extension can come in handy when the parts that came with your vacuum just aren’t doing the trick.
Let’s say you want to reach all the way under your couch or bed, or behind the t.v., without having to move the furniture around. Usually, most hand-held vacuums will be effective in reaching these kinds of areas. However, you can make your vacuum work even harder by attaching a simple paper towel tube to the “stick attachment” or even to the hose of your vacuum. Attach the tube with duct tape. For longer reach, you can tape a couple of tubes together. The great thing about this method is that you can bend the end into any shape you need–it’s just cardboard, after all–and when you’re done, toss it into the recycling bin.
