Dissolve salt stains the simple way: with vinegar.
If you live in (or visit) a region where the roads are salted for snow or ice, you’ve probably experienced salt stains on your shoes. It’s not a good look! Here’s the fastest, most effective way to clean up salt stains (and it will work on your pants cuffs, too).
Dip a clean, dry washcloth in white vinegar. Next, dab the cloth on the salt stains and watch them fade away. Let the shoe dry and, if there’s still a trace of stain there, keep dabbing with vinegar. Dip the other end of the washcloth in warm water and press that against the shoe to remove excess vinegar.
